What is a Commitment ID (CID) expiry date and how do I secure my NSW Smart and Skilled funding?
Make sure you secure your funding and your enrolment with these 3 very easy steps!
These very important first steps are required for you to secure your NSW Smart and Skilled funding and maintain your place in your Upskilled course.
A Commitment ID, also know as a CID, is assigned to you once you enter into a NSW Smart and Skilled funding contract. Your Commitment ID is given an expiry date of six (6) weeks from your start date, in which you must commence training activities or you will lose your funded enrolment. Six (6) weeks from your start date is your CID expiry date.
Please complete the following steps before your CID expiry date to secure your funding!
STEP 1: Pre-Course Requirements
You will already have received your log-in details and password to MyUpskilled in a separate email. You will need to log-in and complete the following tasks prior to starting your first unit of study:
- Read, sign, submit, and retain a copy of your Training Plan schedule, and
- Read and acknowledge the Participant Handbook, and
- Complete the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN)
Once you have completed the Pre-Course Requirements, your units of study will automatically be made available to you. From there, you will be required to make your first upload (as outlined below) in your course by the Commitment ID expiry date.
STEP 2: First Upload
You are also required to show you have commenced your studies by either:
- Uploading or submitting your first K-Check (if applicable to your course), or
- Uploading or submitting your first Assessment
Congratulations! You have now completed your CID requirements to secure your NSW Smart and Skilled funding! However, you still have one more requirement if you want to maintain your funded place...
STEP 3: Continue to show progression in your course
Please remember that as you are on NSW Smart and Skilled funding, you are required to adhere to the schedule outlined on your signed Training Plan.
This includes submitting assessments on schedule and successfully completing the course within the course expiry date.
