Will there be exams towards the end of the course?

Will there be exams towards the end of the course?

There are no exams in the duration of the course, however, there are assessments that must be successfully completed.

What type of assessments will I do?

Assessments can be formative and summative, or diagnostic.

While diagnostic assessments are taken to determine one’s entry qualifications into a programme, formative and summative assessments take place various times throughout the unit, and can take the form of written tests, projects, assessor observation or provision of evidence.

How are assessments graded?

These assessments are then graded as ‘competent’ or ‘not yet competent’, clearly determining the student’s ability to perform the task within their industry’s context.

Students may also be required to undertake work placement as part of their course assessments. These placements are provided by a third party.

What happens if I'm marked 'not yet competent'?

Should you fail to demonstrate competency in a given assessment task, you are provided one more chance to re-attempt the assessment without having to re-enrol in the course.
